1. Secure, resilient computing. Modern mobile platforms have benefited from lessons learned from desktop computing models and incorporated techniques such as code signing, process sandboxing and memory randomization into their implementations. When leveraged correctly, these technologies can result in resilient computing systems that reduce operational costs by reduce the introduction of malware and reducing its potential impact on the platform.

2. Personalized computing. Apps, or small task-specific software applications, have changed the relationship between the computer and the user. Being able to select from hundreds of thousands of these bite-sized apps allows users to build a computing system that is tailored specifically to their needs. Rather than the traditional bloat-ware that grew up in the desktop era, users are assembling finely tuned machines that provide the tools best suited for the jobs they personally need to accomplish.

3. Always on, always connected computing. Mobile technology enables users to interact with service providers anywhere and anytime, and often self-servicing their issue. Costs are reduced by decreasing the amount of resources required to service customers in a more traditional format.
