32nd Annual commemoration of church women slain in El Salvador

On Sunday, November 4, 2012 many gathered to remember?Maryknoll Sisters Ita Ford and Maureen Clarke; Jean Donovan and Sister Dorothy Kazel at the Beaumont School in Cleveland Heights.?

The two women were among four victims that were raped and killed by Salvadoran guardsmen on December 2, 1980.? The group was in El Salvador to work with refugee children.?

It was later reported that the guardsmen had, in fact, been trained by the US Army at the infamous School of the Americas.?

Every year?hundreds come together to celebrate the life and remember the tragic fate of the women and speak out against the killing of current day martyrs that are targeted for political reasons in Central America and Colombia.?

The event included a prayer service, Salvadoran dinner, social hour and human rights speaker.
